Even with the difference between Blogger and BlogSpot - and the need for cookies to be created under one, and read under the other - explained, some people see cookies and scripts as an equal threat. This is where problems with various Blogger features start.
Your browser, such as Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, and many others, is an application that you run on your computer. Your browser takes web pages, written in static HTML - and with Blogger, various extensions such as CSS, dynamic HTML, and XML - and displays those web pages on your computer.
In order to display the web pages on your computer, Blogger uses two rather controversial elements - cookies, and scripts. Cookies and scripts are similar.
For all their similarities, they have one major difference - how they are treated by the browser.
Unfortunately, too many people have decided that cookies and scripts are equally dangerous. Many browsers, and other components of layered security, contain filters that prevent both cookies, and scripts, from being used when necessary. Many Blogger blog owners, and readers, trust the default filter settings, and cause the problems with their various Blogger features.
To complicate matters, each new version of every security layer may have newly restrictive filter settings. And not every owner, of every computer, used to maintain and read Blogger blogs, is qualified to maintain the components of layered security, on an ongoing basis.
And that is why you have problems with your Blogger blogs.
And many of these problems are caused, quite simply, with how each of us, individually, use our computers, in general. They are not unilaterally caused by Blogger - nor can they be, unilaterally, resolved by Blogger / Google.

- Script, such as (not only) JavaScript, is "executable" code, processed at a high level by the browser. You can "read" JavaScript. JavaScript can contain malware - and it can contain links to malware.

- You can't view Stats for our blogs - or can't view Stats with the desired detail.
- You can't customize your blogs, in Template Designer.
And many of these problems are caused, quite simply, with how each of us, individually, use our computers, in general. They are not unilaterally caused by Blogger - nor can they be, unilaterally, resolved by Blogger / Google.
